What is NIL?
NIL stands for Name, Image and Likeness. It refers to a student-athlete’s ability to earn compensation for the use of their personal brand. Thanks to recent NCAA rule changes, college athletes can now engage in endorsements, appearances, social media promotions and other business ventures, all while maintaining their athletic eligibility.
This means Seawolf Hockey players can now:
- Promote local businesses on social media
- Appear at community events
- Partner with brands for marketing campaigns
- Sell their own merchandise or run personal training sessions
