UAA Hockey Names New Head Coach
Please join us in welcoming new Head Coach Eric Rud. A pivotal hire for the program, Coach Rud joins the Seawolves with more than 25 years of coaching experience and success across all levels of hockey, most recently at St. Cloud State. His leadership and recruiting track record will raise the standard for UAA Hockey.

As we close this season of Seawolf Hockey, I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who stood with us this year. I also want to share an important coaching update.

The Road to the Governor’s Cup
The Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup is off to a strong start, as Alaska Anchorage readies to bring the fight to Anchorage. The team is determined to bring home the coveted title, looking forward to one of the most anticipated events of the season: UAA’s return to the Sullivan Arena.

“I just traded you to Fairbanks, good luck.” UAA Defenseman Joey Potter recounts the winding road in his junior hockey career that led him to UAA. The Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup will take place this February at the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage.
Home from a Six-Game Road Trip
The Seawolves have wrapped up the season’s longest road trip so far, returning home for the first time since November 11th. The team’s conquest included facing four New England-based universities, beginning with Bentley University, moving on to Stonehill College, Brown University and ending at the College of the Holy Cross.
The Thrill of an Overtime Win
Overtime – A word that brings nervousness, adrenaline and fatigue to hockey players and fans alike. After three hard-fought periods, the show must go on, declaring a winner in a ruthless round of sudden death. UAA recently came out on top against #6 Denver in a thrilling game.

“If you didn’t play with a guy, you played with his brother, you played with his friends, so it’s an incredibly tight-knit community, which is pretty special.”
First Road Trip of the Season
The University of Alaska Anchorage hockey team travels nearly ten thousand miles each season, far more than other NCAA hockey teams within the contiguous United States.
